Summary
The Kentico Foundation was created to alleviate long timelines for clients and development engineers. Kentico is a CMS system that our company as a whole decided to use for clients because of the robust capabilities. In order to eliminate full custom sites, the foundation was created to have a base to stem from and customize individual sections when necessary. This reduced time and cost for development, created a sales template for the sales team to present, and increased speed for designers for each client.
The Challenge
This project will continuously evolve as each client is different and will offer different features and tools. The foundation can be adjusted according to each client and needs and changes visually based on client business needs. The foundation is to show the functionality in UI form.
My Role
Working with development engineers and other designers, constant reiterations are implemented on improving functionality. I took on the task to build out the foundation based off a group of client websites previously built with past research, client feedback, and existing site launches. Working with a design system and changing the template sandbox to a fictional client for sales teams to utilize as a pitching tool, I continued to build out tools and features as necessary for each team as we progress through new clients. This sandbox was also duplicated to use for a marketplace sandbox for our sister company MarketPush.
Account Page
Portal Login for Users
Challenge
Portal pages are based off past client projects once a user is logged in. This is where the user will have access to their personal account information and allows a user to see past interactions, including order summary, payment information, shipping information, etc. For the foundation the main information was built out but there are rare cases where clients have additional features. For example, I had a client who needed a shared account where multiple members could login to the same account under their own login. One off examples were built as a custom feature for the client but not added to the fountain. The challenge was to keep the sandbox template for the most common outcomes.
Checkout
Guest and Logged In
Challenge
Going through the checkout experience is more challenging that first assumed. Does a user see address before billing before address? Or, does address come before shipping? Working with developers there was some back and forth on how a users proceed through the checkout and as a team we landed on the flow below…
Shopping Cart > Address > Shipping > Billing > Confirm > Thank You
This flow could change depending on clients and whether the user is in the guest flow or logged in flow. As a guest there are different variable, I.e. trying to get them to sign-up or login or fill out a credited account if applicable to the business.

Search SaaS Product Solutions
-
Parametric Search
The parametric search is one of our SaaS Products and will continue to change as we keep building out new features to enhance the overall tool. Clients also, can select what elements they want to control for filtering and what results are listed in the tables for users in order to make selections. View examples and some capabilities that are currently built out for clients to get a basic understanding of the SaaS tool.

Keyword Search
Keyword Search is another SaaS Product that was created for clients to enhance search terms for clients on their website based off keywords. Users can search a keyword, product number, or article in order to yield results. This tool can continue to change as more feedback is viable. The client can also change results based on the data accessible or that they want to provide.
Kentico Foundation Final Thoughts
As the Kentico Foundation continues to evolve it will not only help internal teams, but also, clients and new prospects for the sales teams. The sandbox templates will continue to change depending on clients along with new features and tools and getting user feedback, analysis, and testing. The features will also change as different industries will play roles on how functionality works. As of now the template is built for mainly electronic component companies and different industries will yield new results. It’s a fun project to keep expanding on as more knowledge is built.
